We are now halfway through the Autumn term at Playgroup which of course brought us to Halloween. The children dressed up for the day in their spookiest outfits and everyone had a fantastic time. We also enjoyed dressing up during Framfield School's Book Week. Barefoot Books kindly came into Playgroup to show us their unique range of children's books.
We are pleased to welcome four new children to Playgroup this half term and are glad that they are settling in well.
Our new Lunch Club, which runs until 12.45pm, is already a great success and the children who are currently participating have really been enjoying eating their lunch alongside the children from Framfield School.
The project to develop a garden for the children's use is gaining momentum. This is thanks to a great working party who are dedicating themselves to maximising the potential of the space. As everyone helping with the project is doing so voluntarily, their efforts are much appreciated.
We held a very successful stand at the Village Market in October where we sold some T-towels produced using the children's self-portraits. We were pleased to raise £28.00 in total. We are next participating at the market on 15th December and hope you will come and support us there.
Our Christmas party is planned for the 19th December and Father Christmas usually makes room in his busy schedule to pop in and say Hello! We hope that he will be able to make it again this year! We are also planning a trip to the Bluebell Railway to visit him there.
We still have a few spaces for 2 and 3 year olds who are thinking of starting at Playgroup and we are in fact even registering for September 2008! Therefore, if you are thinking of enrolling your child at playgroup, please do not hesitate and give us a call. We accept children from the age of 2 years old and they do not have to be potty/toilet trained.

From the Parish Newsletter October/November 2007:
Framfield Playgroup has sprung back into action following the summer holiday. Our children have all settled in very well and we hear that our school leavers have settled in to their new life at school very well too.
Our topic on our return was Colours and Shapes. The children created some wonderful colourful pictures and we had a fantastic display of tables showing different coloured objects, which the children brought in to Playgroup.
Our focus for this year is going to be developing an area outside for the children, which we are all very excited about. Although Framfield Playgroup does have access to the School's playground and field, it will be hugely beneficial for the children to have their own special area.
We held a very successful stand at the Framfield and Blackboys Horticultural Show, selling good quality used toys and books. We raised the grand sum of £117.00. which we arc using to fund a trip to Drusillas for all the Playgroup Children.
Our lunch club has now started although we are finishing at 12.45 pm and not 1.00 pm as previously advertised.

From the Parish Newsletter August/September 2007:
We have had a fun and action packed summer term, our topic being beach and sealife. The children have had lots of fun focusing on the story of The Rainbow Fish and we have created some wonderful wall displays and also made a display table of our own holiday memories.
On 4th July, we had a wonderful Book Day and all the children came dressed as a character from their favourite book. A lady from the Library came and spent story time with us, reading some fantastic books to the children. She then presented our older children with their Bookstart Treasure Chests. Potters Bookshop in Uckfield also very kindly donated a book voucher for every child. Many thanks to them!
We then had our Open Day, which was a great success with lots of new faces coming to explore our setting. We also had a visit from our Wealden District Councillor Ann Newton.
We have sadly said goodbye to our children starting school in September but had a wonderful Graduation Ceremony, presenting the children with their certificates and book called "Starting School". We finished the term with a Sports Day and party.
Although we have closed for the summer holiday, we are holding a stall at the Framfield and Blackboys Horticultural Show and look forward to seeing you there!
We return to Playgroup on Wednesday 5th September and our topic is going to be Colours and Shapes. We are also starting our Lunch Club for children aged 3 years and over, which will extend our session to 1.00 pm.
Spaces are limited in September for 2 and 3 year olds and we are in fact even registering for September 2008! Therefore, if you are thinking of enrolling your child at playgroup, please do not hesitate and give us a call. We accept children from the age of 2 years old and they do not have to be potty/toilet trained.

From the Parish Newsletter June/July 2007:
We had a fabulous spring term with some great activities for our topic of growth. We were very successful in growing lots of beans, cress and sunflowers. We had a trip to Wilderness Wood and the weather was lovely, so the children had a lot of fun looking at everything starting to grow and bringing our Easter celebrations into the trip, we had a fun Easter egg hunt in the lovely playground, of course all the children enjoyed the chocolate!
It is now the start of our sunny summer term, the first half of the term we are looking at transport, the children are lucky enough to be able to use the school playground, where they have some lovely new road signs and zebra crossing, so they first made and filled in their own driving licence, then they took their test outside. It was a great success and they all passed first time! We are also hoping to have a visit from a tractor and a pilot. For the second half of the term, our topic is beachlife/sealife and we are hopefully going to have a trip to Drusillas.
Our Rising 5's group is starting in June on Tuesday afternoons in the School, for all our children starting in Reception Class in September. Sadly we are losing quite a large number this year, they will be sadly missed, but we wish them all the best starting school in September.
We have a few places in September for 2 and 3 year olds, if you wish to know more about the Playgroup, please contact:
Jo Rayner (Supervisor) on 07881 - 960875 or
Claire Renwick (Committee Secretary) on 01825 890302
Alternatively, please feel free to visit us on Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning between 9.00 am - 11.30 am in the Memorial Hall, Framfield.

It's been a lovely sunny start this term which has meant we can spend lots more time outside. The school lets us use its lovely garden and playground, but we are trying to find funding so we can develop the space at the back of the Hall to have our own garden, when we could then go outside all year.
Our topic this term is toys and we are doing lots of fun activities - a Teddy Bears Picnic, hopefully joining up with Mrs Foskett's class for this; a trip on the Lavender Line train, which should be great fun if we can fit it in; and hopefully going to Blackberry Farm before the end of term.
We are doing our usual Rising 5's group after half term for the children moving to Reception Class in September. This year we are doing so on Thursday afternoons for 6 weeks which should prepare the children for school. We will be very sad to lose all these children, but will end the term with a little celebration to say goodbye to them. We call this our Graduation Party which is a lot of fun.
We shall have a few places left for September. If you are interested please just drop in any Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning or call -

We have had a lovely start to our year and can hardly believe Easter is nearly upon us. With this in mind we are having a sponsored egg decorating competition to raise some money for more resources. We are also looking forward to the summer term when we can enjoy some lovely warm weather and sunshine, so we can play outside in the school grounds and on the recreation ground - we do so most days in the good weather.
We still have a few places for the summer term. If anyone is interested in a place, or even just visiting us, please feel free to drop in any Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings or call -

From the Parish Newsletter December 2005/January 2006:
We have had a great start to the autumn term, with a nature walk around the Rec and a visit from the local firemen which the children all enjoyed - especially climbing on the fire engine - and if anyone came by the playgroup that morning they might have thought it had been snowing, as they let off their foam all over the car park and us. It looked like the north pole and the children thought this was fantastic.
It was sad to say goodbye to all our older children who moved onto Framfield School, but I would like to welcome all our new children who have settled into playgroup very well.
There has also been a few changes to the playgroup committee: I would like to say thank you and welcome to Mrs Wilde as our new Chair, and say goodbye to Maxine Reed and Oli, her son, who are leaving playgroup at the beginning of December. They are off to sunny places and we wish her and her family all the best in Australia.
Lastly we have had great success with our sponsored firework fundraiser and hope to do well at the Christmas Bazaar that the school hold. We have been able to buy lots of new toys and equipment for the playgroup this term. We look forward to the rest of the term and are eagerly awaiting the Christmas festivities.

Framfield Playgroup is currently going from strength to strength. We have recently taken delivery of our new screens which will be a wonderful bonus in allowing the older children to have more one to one time with their keyworkers. They will also allow us to introduce, from September 2005, our new lunch club which will run until 12.45pm, giving mums and carers a little extra time to complete their own tasks.
We are joining forces with Framfield School and helping to promote the "Kids on the Catwalk" show by hosting a "Lego" creche comer and selling ice-creams, hoping to amuse children and give parents time to browse through the items on offer.
We have very few places available at present but we do have some for
the latter part of 2006. Please do not be put off, give us a ring and we
will try to help with your childrens' requirements.
Many thanks for your support.
